  1. For all the Richlands folks wanting to buy any future mini helmets you'll probably have to check Facebook for the next offering. After this thread got destroyed I'm not sure Ryan is going to advertise here in the future. Lol

  2. 3 easy payments of 19.92 and you get them all. The mini helmet, the cleats, D.V. bobble head, and order before the playoffs and you'll get a laminated copy of the letter from the VHSl. While supplies last.

  3. This is the surest way to get a prediction correct. Pick one team, wait a day or so, then pick the other team. I like it! 🍻 I’m with ya, though. Go Bearcats!

  4. Can each of you name your Top 3 best, and bottom 3 worst venues to watch a high school football game? All things considered....vantage point, bleacher comfort(or lack there of), concessions, PA guy, stadium location, parking, etc. Only one rule. It’s a tough one! NO RICHLANDS 🤣 Anyone can name their home venue. I’m trying to challenge you two, ya know? Keeping ya on your toes😉

  6. Only exciting thing about this week's game is deciding what the pregame meal will be at Hob Nob. And if the Gate City coaches act on their threat and give @Grapeape a Rock bottom through a table or something.

It's pitiful...just a bunch of fair weather spoiled ass fans...that if we were 5-0 instead of 3-2 would be there 2 hours before the game...I have no use for those type of people...win or lose I'm there Friday night as long as the players give effort I'm good with the outcome

  8. Let me have the Cats in an upset - VA High has played in close games all year, Chilhowie’s combined opponent record is 7-16 and they haven’t been tested. We are forgetting VA High only trailed 5A Tennessee by 7 going into the 4th quarter plus they are coming off a bye. Should be a close one - I think we have another shootout with a big special teams play by VA High being the difference: Cats 38 Warriors 30 this will be the second WCYB Game Night VA High has been a part of - will the game be broadcast on tv? If not how can someone keep up?

  9. Let me start by saying that mine and my family’s thoughts and prayers are with the entire Chilhowie community over the recent, tragic news of the loss of one of their own. On a much less important note, there is a high profile football game to be played on Friday night. Last year’s game saw the Bearcats give the Warriors their worst loss of the regular season. Both teams return a high number of players from that game and are a combined 8-1 this year. Emotions will run high for a number of reasons Friday night. I expect a hard fought game from both teams. I feel the Bearcats have what most 1A programs don’t have, to allow them to match up with Chilhowie; speed. I see this game being close through 3 quarters, but I believe the power aspect of the VHS running game will eventually take its toll on the Warriors. VHS - 34 Chilhowie - 19 Good luck to the Chilhowie players and God be with the entire community thru this difficult time.

  10. I heard you can only "transfer" funds to Richlands. Apparently if they go anywhere else, it's chalked up as a loss.

  11. Ji Burton vs Eastside Burton v. Eastside, An Eastside win and they “clinch” the crown baring major injuries. Burton win, the Last game of the season between Thomas Walker becomes a spotlight game if everything pans out as expected. Using the 1a Quality Gauge, Lee high, this game favors J I Burton. However, seeing Eastside, they are able to stop the run well and have one lineman that demands a double team. However Burton has focused more on their throwing than their Jet series Flexbone/wing t. Eastside did have problems in their coverages vs Thomas Walker. Get your Favorite coin out of your pocket and flip it while pulling on a dandelion to make your selection here. If i had money on the game, I would take JIB by a score. Pineville Ky @ Thomas Walker Thomas Walker’s Biggest Game of the year. Pineville holds all the power points Thomas Walker needs, and with that enters this game a much improved team. Pineville is off a one point loss over Cumberland Gap Tn while winning games they normally lose. Pineville and Walker are close in a lot of aspects. The factor that throws this one in Thomas Walker’s Favor is the location. We all know the 13th regions KY refs (Middleboro, Harlan, Letcher Central, etc). Without the 21 point ref cushion, I say Walker wins in a Close one. 1 Score. Northwood @ Castlewood Another Close Affair, Northwood has only beaten Twin Springs while Castlewood is coming off an upset of Rye Cove as their 1st win. I know Castlewood has a stout Defense against the run, however they are in need of help in the passing game. Based on Northwood’s scores, Im going to go out on the Limb and say they can passing enough to keep this game close. This will be another grinding low scoring game, that has the big backs from Castlewood carrying the Devils to their second win. Holston @ Narrows This game will be a C/D clash of interest. A Region C team in Narrows vs a Region D Holston Team, that has silently won some games. I will watch this game to see how close the Region D is to Region C in the coming future. I favor Narrow by 2 touchdowns. Union @ Morristown West. I take West by 14 points. I think West figures out how to win with depth this year.

  15. Elizabethton is in the same boat being a 3A playing by choice in 4A. I know in Elizabethton's case it was to avoid playing Alcoa in the playoffs. Not sure if that's the same reason for Greeneville or not.

  16. I'm with the rest of the 2A crowd. I'm going to take the Bearcats. And no it won't be an upset like Casey Goetz will say. It'll be VHS just flat out beating a 1A team they should beat.

  17. Hopefully the defense for the Dogs has showed up since River View. I'm not counting last week as good luck to anybody defending Bluefield but to give up the points like they did to River View was a bit concerning.

  18. Any other year it would be Beaver at Richlands. Saw Beaver last week and they are as good as advertised but Tazewell exposed some chinks in the armor and got in their heads a little bit. Richlands has a punchers chance, considering last week's win at William Byrd. Beaver's DBs will be put to the test, that is if Beavers D-Line doesn't make it to Moir consistently. Richlands will be able to get at least one score simply based on the fact that Beaver took off some plays last week at Tazewell. Still I think Beaver loses at least one game this season but sweeps Tazewell County again. But VA High at Chilhowie takes the spot. I think it is a good, close game but the Warriors wear down the Bearcats in this one. Rose is heck of a player, but even he cant do it all. They just need to find someone to step up and spell him and I have read they are trying out things. Lucky to be able to do that now before getting into the meat of their schedule and district play. Chilhowie is on a revenge path for every team that put an L in their column last year and VA High is next. Regardless of class, Chilhowie is top to bottom one of the better area teams including one of the most disciplined. But if I were a betting man, I'm putting all my money on the team in Black and Orange.

  19. I was being a little facetious with that comment since no one thinks we can even keep it close.

    What would happen?

That’s kind of how I think I would lean. Both teams have speed and multiple D1 players. Depth would be an issue though. It would be a dream matchup though.

I’d pay some nice $ to see Bluefield this year play Greenville, TN this year.

  27. Morristown is a great place to watch a game, they have outstanding facilities. They are 6A and should have plenty of depth, all the teams they have lost to, they should have lost to, so no surprises there. I think Union can match them starters with them, and would not be surprised if Union wins. I think West may just a slight favorite because of the home field, just slight though. I always like it when SW Va. teams strike a blow for the little guys across the state line but I can't get a feel for this game yet.

  28. I haven't seen Chilhowie in person, but have seen a little film. The warriors haven't played a difficult schedule, but they have beaten those teams convincingly. GW looked impressive when they absolutely manhandled GC in a scrimmage, but didn't fare so well against the Warriors. This will be Chilhowie's toughest game to date. Tennessee High is 4A equivalent in Virginia and only about 60 kids from being 3A. Va High played them well, but that's also a rivalry game and sometimes those don't shake out in reality like they should on paper. Tenn High has won a game they probably shouldn't and lost a game they probably shouldn't. Hard to judge where they're at, so that makes it difficult to gauge their challenge to Va High. Va High has probably seen a more diverse collection of teams and players to this point. This is a really difficult game to pick. I believe with the right bounce here or there this is anyone's game. Assuming an error free game on both sides, Chilhowie takes this one 35-21.

  29. I have to admit, they were fairly impressive against Galax and Grayson. It wasn't the same product Carroll has put on the field over the past decade. They are deficient in a few areas but Turner will develop those positions over time. But they compete!
