If someone here can find last year's Mtn 7 all conference and some of the last years of the LPD all district teams and prove that the number of kids being honored is significantly lower than it is now then I may agree with you. I would bet most of us have not been in those all district meeting and don't know the story as to why they have 23 kids on 1st team. If any of you all would like to copy the list and highlight the KIDS (and let's remember they are kids) that you feel should not be on the list then go ahead. But to be fair to the kids don't hide behind a screen name make sure to post your name and where you are from too.

If Graham's defense stays strong, offense stays explosive, limit penalties, and capitalize on any mistakes Radford makes, then I see a trip to Salem. The defense is a 110% better than first of the season. As far as East Rock, I know nothing about them but it's not ever over till it's over. I don't discount the GMen in any match up these days. Kudos to coaching staff and players!

success at the middle school and jv level doesn't always come guaranteed at the varsity level. nor is it always a reflection of good/ bad coaching. kids and coaches gotta find realistic common ground to improve. both sides have to demand more of each other, without parents/ bleacher coaches in the way. good luck to all

Just out of curiosity I looked a little and only found the 2010 all LPD team. There were 18 first teamers counting specialists listed as offense. This years mountain 7 listed a utility guy and the LPD didn’t.

Greeneville is a different breed they work like NO other HS Program I have ever seen!!!! They are just to strong at every position physically, on top of beimh Very Talented and then they are coached up soo technically sound. They also have Ws over 2 6A programs and can compete with probably Maryville Alcoa and Whitehaven for the BEST overall program in the Whole State. I would love to see the Match Up and See how it plays out they really probably could get it scheduled because Gville has trouble finding close quality games.

I think the majority of Marion fans are pulling for Chilhowie to win it all or don't care either way. The bitterness and acrimony between the schools faded away years ago. It could best be described these days as a friendly, neighborhood rivalry. Go Warriors!

Watching the livestream with NO volume ... and listening to the Radford radio broadcast! A lot better this way! BTW ... Go Bobcats!

What stands out to me on that list is Gate City, PV, and Appy. PV played 64 playoff games and Appy played 59 up until 2010. What if they were still around through 2017? Those total playoff games would be much higher. Gate City has a whopping played 84 playoff games. And Giles with 77. All 4 of those are impressive to me.

My brother lives in the Jonesboro -Johnson City area (sons played for Daniel Boone ),and when he came in for the Beaver - graham game this year, we had a discussion about Greenville. He told me that Greenville actually plays a class up. He said that they are really a 3A school that moved up to 4A and plays 5 and 6A's schools. I asked him if this year's Bluefield team could beat Greenville, and he sat their and pondered for a minute. He said that Greenville would probably win, but it wouldn't be by much. Depth would be a key factor.
