Wait a minute;didn't Union rush for over 300 yards. And held Riclands under 100 yards. And didn't Union turn the ball over a couple times in the red zone. Once on the one yard line. Looks to me like Union clearly out played Richlands. Just to be fair.

If you were in 3rd grade then, I presume you’re in 10th or 11th grade now. I’m saying this out of kindness, but going back to an 9-year-old thread and making an effort (and a particularly poor one, might I add) to vindicate your father is the height of unwise. What does that have to do with this season? Both Graham and Union are capable of winning state titles this year.

I don't honestly think it is. They're gonna get a 5-5 Jefferson Forest team. If they win they, they'll likely get E.C Glass, who just lost to Amherst last week...the same Amherst team that Blacksburg destroyed. Bruins will be favorites again. Then the regional championship against either George Washington or Salem. They trounced Salem a month ago and have added Coffee back to the mix at WR. Not saying it's an easy region, but they are the heavy favorites. Look at Region B. There's FOUR 10-0 teams over there, including Dinwiddie. In fact, there are 4 undefeated teams left in 4A, and they're all in 4B. That's a murder's row region, not 4D.

In that region, you'd have 2 teams. The other 4 teams in Region B are all 4-6 or worse. What are you supposed to do? Only have a regional championship and give those teams TWO weeks off after the season? That's not fair to the rest of the teams in the other regions who are playing games.

I think Marion doesn't match up well with Virginia High. VA High is much stronger up front, and has alot more speed than Marion. The Canes do have a tough defense, and Ford has potential to keep moving the chains. Should be a good one!

So what's the solution? Put just 4 in each region and 8 win teams don't make it in?

Two were garbage time, one was on a broken play at end of first half. They had one sustained drive that led to TD against starters. IIRC. Union could've scored 100 if they wanted. 26-0 at end of 1st.

A couple were legit. But when you're up 26-0 in the first quarter, motivation goes out the window. They cruised the rest of the game. You could tell the intensity wasn't there like it was in the 20 minutes or so. There was a little subbing on D for Union as well. Battle has a little speed and they do have lots of things to keep the D guessing out of that triple option.

14 points on starters, 15 on 2nd string or v/v, The Game was over at half. I will say the QB for Battle was very fast, right side of O line big and they ran to that side more. Battle did not have enough speed on defense to catch the long runs, D line on left side pretty good, they did not give up much in the middle, they could not contain much from tackle out.

I don't think you can just throw those stats out.Especially how those stats were accumulated. Up front in the trenches. Now, certainly one team could improve upon those one way or the other.

If you have to come to a message board to get motivated your in trouble already. I think Mance is a better coach than Turner, but Turner isn't stupid either. Union has a legit D1 player and they are using him as they should. He does everything but drive the bus and if his age wasn't a factor he'd probably have his CDL's and do that good too. I think this is Union's nightmare scenario, but I believe that will do just enough to win, because Richlands is challenged on the offensive side of the ball. There is far more pressure on Union than Richlands, so much I can feel it in Kingsport.

Va High better be on their A game. Beating a team twice in one season is tough. Beating a team twice in a matter of a few weeks has got be way tougher task. I'm sure Marion is looking for revenge and will come out ready to play. Va High will have to clean up the turnovers and mental mistakes from the last few weeks. This one is a close one. Thats absolutely false. He likely would not be a Power 5 recruit, but he absolutely has that type of talent. You realize he hasn't been healthy in three years right? He's also not a big gym rat, if he was as dedicated as Mitchell or someone then yes he absolutely could play at a Liberty type program. If size was all that mattered, those kids at Lee would be as good as Jeb. They are not.

I agree but this is why they play the game. You mentioned 2 players, are the other 9 of same caliber? All it takes is one bad snap, one missed tackle, there is is always a chance in high school football.

Duke or Georgia is a better choice . The Chokies are always gonna be wannabes!

The school board knows the concerns....they don't care. Scott county football 2-28. The county is dying (not just football) and the people in charge would rather be in charge of a sinking ship then not be in charge of anything.
