Helluva game tonight. What more could you ask for?? A well officiated game that came down to the last play. Proud of Richlands for taking Tazewells punches in the sound half and giving a few back and holding on at the end. The Creasey kid is as advertised. He’s gonna be a thorn in the regions side if the Dogs have talent around him. These teams are separated by 3 points in 2021, with both games being barnburners. Glad the rivalry is back. Good luck to the Dogs the rest of the way.

The future is very, very bright. No seniors on Tazewell’s OL tonight. You lose Jared Mullins and Ethan Mills but bring back Cassius Harris, Logan McDonald, and all Tazewell’s RBs. Losses will hit the defense a little harder, but Tazewell will return 6 players on that side of the ball also. Some good looking kids coming up the pipe next season, and they have size. Meanwhile, Richlands loses 19 seniors. I’m optimistic for next year and beyond. But first thing’s first, the Dawgs need to beat Marion to earn a trip to Bullitt Park. I’ve never been there, and calling a game there would be a whale of a treat.

Prior to naming the horribly generic Northwood Panthers, Smyth County had some great mascot names including the Saltville Shakers, Rich Valley Steers, and Sugar Grove Maple Leafs. Richlands changed their helmets. The left side had the lightning R, but now the right side has the old early 90’s BLUES on them. Big, big fan.

I agree Ryan. Same to the blues as well! Believe it or not I’ve been known to go to a Richlands game with an R on my hoodie. It’s just all about the rivalry. And when there is a rivalry there is trash talk!😂

Gosh, if I took my b/p I'm sure it's elevated. The first half, rain was the opponent of both teams, but the second half, both Blues and Dawgs were the "cardiac kids" for us viewers. Tazewell has a gem in Creasy. A freshman with that football IQ, mobility and accurate arm, the Dawgs have a good one. Honeycutt for the Blues, what a playmaker he is. Don't know his grade, but I hope he's around for a couple more years. Bandy the difference maker in this game with his leg. Just a great game between two competitive 460 schools. Congrats to the Blues! Best to the Dawgs!

I’m very proud of our guys tonight. It came down to execution, plainly and simply. Richlands’s was better than Tazewell’s by a fraction. That happens sometimes, especially with high school young men. I don’t think that streak will reach 17 again, that’s for sure. Future is bright for Tazewell, and the lumps they take this year will serve them very well next year.

Great to see! Thought there was sportsmanship and mutual respect in this game. During one stoppage, I saw Bunch and Beavers chatting it up while lined up across from each other.

I do think the consolidation school names were bland as hell. My all time favorite name (I would t want to have the name though) are the Poca “Dots” in WV. I mean…wow….that’s courage.

Same coach that was 29-47 in 7 years at Holston? Matlock was 44-35 in same time frame. And they guy who replaced him is 6-0. Probably more of an indication of how terrible crist was. Patterson gets to prove himself friday.

The only penalties I get upset about not being called are the late hits. To many injuries can happen that way. Only saw the one last night and again wouldn't have affected the outcome. But remind the players you can't get away with that. As long as its even then fine. But call those dangerous ones at least.

Bluefield couldn't stop Blevins, Graham didn't hardly have to crack open the playbook. I think the G-men were content with letting Blevins run the ball 70 percent of the time in this one. I think Bradshaw touched the ball twice. Graham has a plethora of athletes to choose from, but their services weren't needed. Graham played it close to the vest.

No dog in the fight here, but a horrible call by the officials on Richlands on the kick return by Tazewell. I don't even know what the heck the penalty was, but it will allow Tazewell to start at the near midfield
