My family is coming down from Bluefield on Friday! The main tribe will be coming down from Claytor Lake early Saturday morning! I purchased 25 tickets tonight! My rule was ... Guy sitting behind me on Saturday was cussing Shane Allen for taking the starters out in the 4th quarter, allowing Holston to double their total yardage, and get a garbage time touchdown. He was all over the place. "That's it coach, let 'em back in it!" "That score's on you coach!" "Why are we abandoning the passing game, coach!" Uhm, maybe because the score is 44-13 in the 4th quarter, dipshit. Starters don't need to get hurt in garbage time before the state championship game. Besides, that's invaluable experience for the reserves in terms of building for the future. Fans can be complete morons!!! I'm consistently fascinated at a coaches ability to brush that stuff off and keep moving forward.

As far as Galax/Graham game, with six starters out, that’s a hard row to hoe. I hope KW isn’t as successful containing Bradshaw. I wish Galax best of luck Saturday! I want them to win about as bad as I want Graham to win! Give ‘em you know what Maroon Tide!

As they should. I don't think any rational person would expect Galax to win that game. But be willing to give credit where credit is due. Galax held Graham to their season low in points with almost half the student enrolment, missing 6 starters, and a roster of 30 players.

It was a cold and rainy day that day I sat in dis-belief (in a trash bag with a hole cut in it to stick my head through) as Graham kept throwing the deep sideline patterns and watched Harrisonburg get away with chop blocking and taking out the knees of Graham's offensive line. Akeem Jordan for Harrisonburg later played at Linebacker in the NFL for thr Eagles. He and Bradshaw met many times on the field again. Graham's athleticism was not used to their potential that day and that fake punt will continue to haunt me. That may still be the most athletic team that has ever taken the field for Graham.

Not to mention didn’t Galax have like 6 starters out due to Covid . And they held Bradshaw to minus total yardage!!! Don’t get me wrong Graham was the better team that night but don’t think you can say walking the dog there.lol

Walked the dog on Galax? Was only up 7 nothing at the half and won 28-0 with one of the scores coming from a blocked punt from a kid who had never punted in a game before. We may have different ideas on what walking the dog on someone is.

Also Abingdon did not deserve two first team WR. If the OPOY was gonna be a split, shoulda been Lomax/Beavers. WRs shoulda been Carter, Beavers and Hill.

Graham's impressed me the way they have won. They are lethal with the pass, but can quickly morph into a super Union type power football team and did that against Appo and Union in the playoffs. When a team can do that offensively in lower levels of High School ball, be that balanced, they are usually a tough out come playoff time.

I’m sure the Graham coaching staff knows exactly what KW brings to the table as far as strengths and weaknesses. They will game plan accordingly. No one is taking this game or King William lightly, I can assure you of that. According to the VHSL website, STATE CHAMPIONSHIP tickets go on sale @ 6 pm tonight. Ticket sales are thru GoFan and there will be a link on the VHSL site. Chartered "pep" busses are available for GHS students only and will depart GHS @ 9:15 on Saturday morning. Fortunately ... and for a change ... I only have a 15 minute drive from Roanoke City. Saturday's predicted Roanoke Valley weather forecast ... temperature of around 70 degrees with a 45% chance of rain at kickoff. Yeah, I wanted to tweet at a certain Dickenson County School board member Saturday and ask her since she's such a great couch coach if she still wanted to question Tiller's coaching skills in not kicking or punting to Bradshaw. But I refrained myself hard as it was.

I would think Clintwoods was the longest just due to the roads at that time. Both Clintwoods trip and Powell Valleys were a pain in the tail I imagine.

He was a decent football player. But he was all speed. That was it. Couldn’t catch to save his life. But if there was even an inkling of a hole — he was gone. Terry did all the other things. He had the moves, the hands and really, really good speed as well. Doesn’t hurt that the QB was very good also.

I stated before the game, it wouldn’t affect the outcome and it didn’t. Maybe the players used it as fuel, who knows. What do they say, “It’s the principal of the matter.” The ire isn’t directed at Appo but the town of Bluefield, WV.

So if Appo had called BSG local government official in 2017 and arranged to practice at the park the night before the game and morning of the semi final game unbeknownst to Coach Turner & Union, that’s kosher with you? I think it comes down to respect. Appo took advantage of a situation, can’t fault them but the town of Bluefield should have at least said, “Let us run that by Coach Palmer.” Graham found out from the gatekeeper. Graham pays to use for every playoff week after the regular season in addition to the fee for the regular season. Appo got to use it for free. Like I said, not faulting them but the town of Bluefield official that brokered that back door deal.

Claiborne is 75 percent of their offense. He does a lot of it on his own. He doesn't need much room. But I agree with your assessment of their xompetition. Lafayette was a good win for them, but Graham looks stronger up front then Lafayette.

I am giving them respect. I’ve been watching the HUDL film and the KW running back is no slouch. All he needs is a crease and he’s taking them to the house. Graham will need to play their best game of the year if they want to stand a chance in this one.

Hats off to both teams in this one. IMO it was just Grahams time to win and someone from SWD to finaly beat Appo. I think Appo has a great program and no doubt will continue to show up like a thorn in the playoffs against SWVA teams, but that's all good in my book. Good game and wish the best for both teams moving forward. As to the hoopla with the fans, it's normal to have a few that over react to these situations from both sides of the field, but you have to love the game. Good luck to the Gmen going to Salem next week, hope you bring the hardware back to SWVA.

Anyone saying Haywood from Belfry should be fired because of a poor start should be barred from watching football ever again. It's still very impressive to come back from that type of start to win it all.

That is correct for most school districts. Vaccinated + no symptoms = no quarantine. If you are not vaccinated and exposed, it's 8-11 days quarantined (depending on school district), but either way, if an unvaccinated player is exposed this week, they would miss state.
