Why does it surprise anyone that Richlands is having success? Look at their losses. 1) Early season loss to Union at home by two TD's but if I remember this game was pretty close until late. 2) Blacksburg away. This one was crazy because I think Richlands came back strong in the 2nd Q. Got blown out by a D4 team in the 2nd half that could win the states. 3) Bluefield at Home. Played with them for 1 quarter until Bluefield blew them out in the 2nd quarter on big plays. 4) Graham away. They got embarrassed in this game for sure. They showed heart at Va High and William Byrd. I still think Graham blows them out but it is because Graham is just a lot better not because I think poorly of Richlands.

Why are you all talking richlands union on richland graham thread anyways because union is not playing richlands this Saturday anyways so their last game has no bearing on Saturdays game now.

I don't anticipate a "flop". I feel like the game will be much closer than last time. If we can establish the run like we did this past Saturday, I give us a fighters chance. If not, it could be a long afternoon!!! I just hope we score this time lol

Probably true for some but Union folks on this forum are good sports and have been complimentary of Graham and they way they played Saturday. Graham needed to prove something Saturday and they did. Much respect for the Union fans who recognize Graham's efforts. Every school has those few bad apples so to speak even us. I didn't realize many people still cared about FB, too much drama IMO.

Here is you one Congrats, if we played you guys 10 times this year we would go 0-10, just too much speed for us to many athletes, we had 4/5 covered and the 5th one would get free. Good luck and bring home a trophy back to our region

From what I’ve seen it will be your typical union line. Nothing incredibly huge, but can hold its own. Trevor Wagner will be back along with Carson Ray. I may be missing another but I don’t think so. The JV line played very well this year. Take that for what it’s worth.

Again, beating the same team twice in one year can be challenging enough but when you add Mance and Co. into the equation it makes it that much harder. They will be hungry. Once you get this far in the playoffs you have to eliminate mistakes and take advantage of what the other team gives you. Graham will need to finish drives. We got inside the 10 a couple of times and come away with nothing. I think we had 2 or 3 turnovers Saturday. Regardless of the outcome Saturday this Graham team has been the most enjoyable to watch for me. They are clicking pretty good together. I love defense and this defense has made big gains this season. Kastner and Edwards are very impressive. If you met Kastner outside of football you would never dream he would play the way he does on the field. Helmet goes on and he's a different kid. One week at a time. Go Graham!!

The first time in history a team scores 50 or more points and loses an NFL game. With that being said, the NFL is on a trend of becoming arena football.

That crew was not the best that night for either side. That is interesting i swear he came over and that's what he said was that they hadn't given the appropriate spacing for the fair catch. You'd think they could at least be on the same page with your explanation wouldn't you haha.

2A- Palmer (Graham) I personally think he deserves it. I think he has come a long ways the past two years. Bringing Palmer in as Defensive Coordinator was a great move.

That's interesting, Union was told the official blew the whistle early because he anticipated the fair catch instead of waiting for him to actually catch the ball. Thus, the "do over." Either way, not the most stellar of officiating crews that night. Lol

Seems like same old stuff to me, no one wants to give Richlands a chance. I for one think Richlands is out-talented in this game, and if you look at it on paper the Blues should just stay home and enjoy Thanksgiving, but the game is not played on paper, and any given game can be a shocker. No one expected the Blues to beat Ridgeview and I only picked them to win by 3, but still had doubts. I believe this game will be a closer contest than most think and it will be a fight to the end. I'm pulling for the upset with far fetched hope, but don't count Richlands out until the fat lady sings, and I already know some of you will say, "well she's warming up now." LOL Best of luck to both teams. GO BLUES!!!

When Graham played Central, they were still a bit undisciplined and sloppy. If you'd seen them the last few games, I guarantee your take would be totally different. The defense especially has improved tremendously. I don't know exact stats but I think Richlands only got past 50 yard line once then defense picked it off next play and I'm not sure how many first downs Union had Saturday but it wasn't many. I do like you saying GMen by 3TDs, hope you're right.

I as well wish everyone nothing but happiness. Like I said I don't have a dog in this race. Heck id like to see him come to Central but at last I don't see that happening.. All im saying is if it is a have to move due to work or something like that I could see it. But if not then its not worth it to transfer because I don't see him getting any more looks than what he is getting now.

I dare say Richlands is the last place on his mind to transfer 😂 it would take more than a field house tour to get him there. If they throw in a place to live and jobs for his parents, a car to drive, he might bite, not that any of those things have ever been done 😂. Seriously, hope he stays put but if not, wish him the best. I hope Ridgeview folks would harbor no ill feelings either toward him. I don't think anyone at Richlands has been that way toward Booker kid that went back to Graham this year. I would like to think Ridgeview wouldn't toward him.

Mac had 7 points in their win versus South Florida. Georgetown came back from being down 11 and forcing OT.. Won 76-73 I think.. South Florida was terrible from Free throw line and Georgetown was pretty good. Very proud of Mac and believe he is going to show critics he can adjust to whatever challenges are thrown at him and rise above it!

Tony Palmer has built a program from one of the worst in the region just before he took over to one of the best.

You prepare the exact same way you prepare each week for every game. They know who they have in front of them this Saturday and exactly what they have to do to win. I doubt this team cares if they win by a blow out or not but that they win and move on. Not many gave them much of a chance really atfter beaver to do much.

Graham does have talented players, which helps; however, beginning of season they were sloppy and undisciplined. Seconds half of season, defense has improved tremendously and that's a credit to coaching and good play calling on D. Give credit to Mance but I don't think you can discount Graham's coaching.

If Graham can beat regional championship demons, what realistically are their chances of beating either Appo or Radford to get to the state championship? I truthfully only know what's mentioned on this forum about those two teams this year.

The fumbles killed Ridgeview being in the Red Zone. Losing 2 of their best players to injury in the 1st quarter hurt a bunch also. Congrats to Richlands. Think the 1st drive of 98 yds set the tone for the game. Qb of Richlands had a heck of a game. Think the next game against Graham will be closer.. I'm picking an upset! Richlands 28-27!

I don't know who Patrick Henry's coach is, but he deserves at least a shout out at 1A. Even with the loss to Chilhowie and likely a second time to a heavily favored Chilhowie team, the staff at PH-GS has done a nice job.

Sexton carves thru Unions defense. Atkins didn’t hurts us. Sproles didn’t hurt us. Sexton hurt us running and catching the ball. Really shocked Coach Mullins went this route. Putting too much stock in Atkins.

Agree, Graham's defense has come into its own past few weeks. Kudos to coaches & players! Great decision by Tony to bring Richlands former DC on board and top marks to Rex for what's he's accomplished. I think they seem to have meshed well together and it shows. All around great coaching staff and kids. Graham definitely has to forget about first win over Richlands. Prepare like they've never prepared before and I'm sure Richlands will do the same. Bring it home GMen!!!!

This^^^^^ I would love to see nothing more than for Richlands to upset them, but being realistic, Graham has a lot of speed and the D has been playing lights out for the past several games. When you have an athlete at QB that is as good as Cam on a high school team, he can just about carry a team when the D is playing like they are. I think we have a punchers chance and we do have a fantastic coach and staff, but Graham has been playing some great football this year..........but anything can happen !
