Graham does have talented players, which helps; however, beginning of season they were sloppy and undisciplined. Seconds half of season, defense has improved tremendously and that's a credit to coaching and good play calling on D. Give credit to Mance but I don't think you can discount Graham's coaching.

The “Union High Bear Den” Facebook page only congratulated Richlands on their win. Seems their is a lot of animosity toward Graham after getting beat.

I agree with this 100%. Idk what happened in the little league fight years ago but Coach Turner, who got injured, did not deserve it. I enjoy this forum a lot but what you said GMan was wrong. He had 210 on 26 carrries. He broke a 70 and 51 pair of runs. Thats 121 of those 210 on two runs. If you take away those efforts, he had 89 yards on 24 carries. That’s 3.7 YPC. You obviously can’t take those two big ones away, but I think outside of those two, Richlands did a fantastic job of stopping him the rest of the game.

Tony Palmer and Jeff Robinson and it's not even a debate. Unless Richlands shocks Graham, those two are clearly most deserving

Why does it surprise anyone that Richlands is having success? Look at their losses. 1) Early season loss to Union at home by two TD's but if I remember this game was pretty close until late. 2) Blacksburg away. This one was crazy because I think Richlands came back strong in the 2nd Q. Got blown out by a D4 team in the 2nd half that could win the states. 3) Bluefield at Home. Played with them for 1 quarter until Bluefield blew them out in the 2nd quarter on big plays. 4) Graham away. They got embarrassed in this game for sure. They showed heart at Va High and William Byrd. I still think Graham blows them out but it is because Graham is just a lot better not because I think poorly of Richlands.

Sorry havok i just become acclimated with the area again a couple years ago and do have strong ties and strong roots in the Deep South. As you all know by now I have ties to Honaker. However I don't live quite that far south now and have enjoyed keeping up with girls basketball the past few years. I really enjoy ranking the teams in this west division that the site tracks. If everyone would rather me only track the south division then ok. I like keeping up with all of them though. I thought some on this site might enjoy knowing or hearing what is out there The Roanoke area has some strong teams that have been fun to keep up with as well One of my nephews does a lot of referee and I have friends involved all throughout most of the west sided teams areas. I just enjoy following the action. If this board is mainly for Deep South talk or SWVA talk only I completely understand

The right person hasn't got to him yet. He is good but if IMG or one of the others comes calling, you have to consider it. If he can better himself by going to DB, Science Hill, Greeneville or even Crockett he has to at least give it a listen.

I wouldn’t count on that!! In my expert opinion that blow out is the biggest thing Richland has in its favor!! Hard to mentally prepare for a team you just blew out !!!!

Proof is in the pudding. Even when Richlands is in a “down season” (by their standards) they still go far into the playoffs. Coach Mance! Never met the dude but have tons of respect for him.

Who ever wins the Region D would be most deserving. 1A: can't deny a 13-0 coach. 1A: can't deny a coach that upsets a 12-0 team. 2A: Richlands as shocked once already. Can't deny him if they win. 2A: Lol Graham not sure we all no there spot on. But he is a #3 seed winning Region.

He aint going anywhere. But if he does I wish him the best. I remember the Wadsworth kid. His mom moved to Kingsport and he followed. It really didn't work out for him. If he has offers now then why would he chance it moving to a bigger different school where he may or may not get the touches he gets now. He had 2000 yards this year in a strong conference. These "offers" he has can go away as fast as they come so why chance it.

That was just an example of playoff football. Ridgeview didn't play their best game, and Richlands did what they had to do to win. Hats off to both teams and the sportsmanship they displayed on the field. Didn't get tot go to the game, had to listen, but it came down to turnovers and Ridgeviews problems with tackling the running back and quarterback at crucial times. Richlands has been in these situations and Mance has had his share of heartbreak games for calling the wrong plays at the wrong time. I think that's what happened in this game with Ridgeview, and the playoff experience helped Richlands coaching staff. Thanks to all you Ridgeview guys for being on this board and showing the respect. Now you're all invited to Mitchel Stadium next Saturday to cheer for the team that won the game. Hope to see you there.

I think the memes are in response to the hype video , nothing more, nothing less. As far as state title, one game at a time. Graham has to focus and forget about beating Richlands in regular season. It's all about Saturday. Show up or go home!

Absolutely. Graham is best in Region D, and despite Union beating Richlands, can't argue with the playoff results. Graham would beat Abingdon IMO, and Richlands just beat Ridgeview. Union is better than the third SWD team, VHS, and I think the bottom of M7 (Battle, Central, GC) is better than bottom of SWD (Marion, Lebanon, Tazwell) as I think Battle beats Marion, Central would probably take Lebanon and GC or Lee could beat Tazwell. but there's no doubt now the top of the SWD was better than the M7 when it counted

I didnt have a good feeling about today's game, and that feeling was right....Richlands is not at bad team by no means, moir killed ridgeview himself today...but if ridgeview would have won today I sure wouldn't bet money on ridgeview against Graham unless my money was on Graham. I'm not tossing Richlands out like you said I am..I'm just making my uneducated prediction based on previous games played. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Graham has to much speed for us. I think Richland's will play better this time but I think Graham is just better than we are this year. Mance will have them ready. You still have to play the game... you never know with High school football. That's why we all love it.
